My journey into the world of nutrition started around ten years ago as I was busy working my way through the career ladder after graduating from my first degree in Modern Languages.
As I was getting increasingly busy with pressures from work and family life, I developed an interest in health and wellbeing. How could I truly look after myself in order to thrive in the ways I wanted to? I also experienced some mental health challenges, which led me to explore all sorts of complementary health support.
I found that I kept coming back to nutrition and the effect of what I was putting into my body.
I decided to pursue this growing interest and took the plunge to retrain in the field. I am now a Registered Nutritional Therapist and hold a diploma in Naturopathic Nutrition from the College of Naturopathic Medicine London. This involved three intensive years of study and 200 hours in student clinic. The CNM diploma is an NTEC (the Nutritional Therapy Education Commission) accredited course meaning that it adheres to the National Occupational Standards in Nutritional Therapy.
I am a full member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and am registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Commission (CNHC). Both require therapists to have undertaken an accredited course of study and clinical training as well as continued professional development (a minimum of 30 hours a year). The CNHC register is recognised by the government and it meets the requirements of the Professional Standards Authority.

The consultations were incredibly professional but Louise put me at ease, I ask a lot of questions and Louise was patient and provided a lot of additional information to help me navigate my food choices. She has obviously learned a lot through her own personal experiences as well as her professional training, and that personal touch made the whole experience feel very natural, rather than clinical!
